Hey guys, im after an electric drum kit and am wondering if anyone uses and or wants:) and or recomends a specific brand or kit???
ive been looking at the alesis dm5 pro? anyone have and or used one of these ?
i really need a kit that i can assign my own drum samples to and set up various custom kits with samples of real kits and percussion ive recorded over the years??.
any ideas, advice etc would be great!..

Nate
Hi - if you want to assign samples to drum-hits, have you thought about midi-capters that fit onto an existing drumkit and can be used to trigger samples.... if you wanted you could also record the audio of whichever kit you have and blend the real and sampled audio.
Other than that, yamaha dt explorer is highly recommended. But i dont play drums, so ask a drummer ! Sorry.
the alesis is good ~ the 'brain' is quite old now, but works great...
hope this helps,
Alex
mmmm yeah i dont have an acoustic drum kit, i do however have various percussion instruments which i mic up and record without to much hassle, ,, i guess the real question is, can you asign each of the ten "channels" from the alesis io to seperate midi tracks in cubase for example?..
Thanks for the advice RBomb

It all depends on your budget, Roland is by far the best electronic drum manufacturer, so if you have money, buy the V-Drums, even the TD3K is mies ahead of the competition..
i was considering buying one for some time, then Motu's BPM and NI's Maschine came out. I chose maschine and love it.
For Drums and more, it's much more
