Can podcasts pay for themselves?
Hey everyone I'm new to the bedroom studio community, but my name is Shine and I do an online Christian hip hop show called Ressurwreck Radio. I do everything from home using a BR-532 and a lot of sony software. Besides that I'm trying to think of some creative ways to let the show pay for it self, any suggestions

My own show http://soundsgoodpodcast.com pays for itself! I have my current media on podhoster.com and back episodes on Amazon S3. So that costs a bunch of dollars every month. I have a show sponsor, gotomeeting.com, and that way I play even! I also recommend google ads on your page. Even with my metrics (average of 2500 downloads per episode, currently an everage of 500 rss subscribers according to FeedBurner) I get a few dollars every year from google. You could also try Amazon's associates program, although I haven't gained much from that. Be sure to add it to the iTunes store (which is free) and all the major podcast directories. Using FeedBurner is also a great way to be sure your rss is valid. I've used a WordPress site with PodPress via FeedBurner from the start and it always worked out fine for me. Using FeedBurner is also a great way to see usage of your show, rss subscribers, etc. Good luck with your show!
