I'm a Nigerian living in Auckland NZ. I used to make a lot of afrobeat (quite difficult to get that big band feel as 1 person!), but for the last year or two have been making mostly dub and dubstep. Anyone who knows dubstep can tell that my main passion is BASS. Play electric bass and Yoruba Talking Drums (pitch changeable tension drums, which can "speak" my language, Yoruba). Currently enjoying mixing the traditional organic rich bass from the Iya (mother) drum with fat, LFO-wobbly bass to make afrodubstep;)
Secret Weapon :
Yoruba Talking Drum

wicked tunes mate! I'm a big bass fan myself : ) my favourite is 320 dub - love the jungle drums and wobbly bass - what have you used to make that bass sound? A Microkorg??
I'm intrigued to see and hear what your Yoruba drums are, can you do some kind of video of them??
Cheers!
