I just posted another mix of a Device Box song. Any feedback on the overall sound would be great.
Thanks.

I just finished fixing a sample rate issue that cost me about 10 hours of troubleshooting. Too tired to give all the details here, but you can check out my problem and solution on Cakewalk's forums here:
Clock rate problem
I'll post the final version of the song Reverse for you to check out.
Ironically, I did basically have to reverse the problems in this song. Just thought of that.

Well, not really. But I did submit a tune to CBC's Anthem Challenge, a contest to replace the theme song for Hockey Night in Canada that CBC lost the rights to.
A friend at work mentioned it last Wednesday, but I worked overtime on Wednesday night and most of the weekend. With submissions to the contest closing on Aug 31, and me going out of town this weekend I really didn't have that much time to devote to it. So, I had about a day and a bit of devoted time and managed to get a submission in.…

Well, it's nearly 3:00 AM and I am ready for bed, finally. I woke up really early today and couldn't get back to sleep, then went back to bed around 8:00 AM. That lead me to sleeping in to 11:30. I never do that.
So I just spent a couple hours backing up my system and doing some mixing. Let me know what you think of the two Device Box songs: Forever, and Lost Cause.
Look forward to your feedback, as always.

Dear Friends,
I've started a new members only synth portal: www.ilovesynths.com, a soundbank repository and am looking for people to help it grow in membership.
It is not a 'Ning' thing and don't believe it can conflict with MBS but possibly enhance it. Members are duly rewarded by way of commissions and lifelong commissions on global website sales. Members promote the site via their own affiliate link, and new members would join direct through you and will remain for life. For those keen to hel…

Yay! I finally made it!
Guys, I invite you to read my
blog about Sound Design for computer games on http://nonlinearsound.org
I will use it to write about my daily experiences while doing this job and that includes the sound creation itself, using all kinds of different tools as well as mixing and arranging for mono and up to surround. I have to do the mastering for all target platforms so this will be a topic as well. Implementing the sound into…

Hey guys,
I posted some tarcks up on my page for everyone to hear and critique. Everything was recorded by me at home, but only "Hear You Me (Cover)" was actually mixed by me - the rest were done at another local home studio...[hint: listen out for the extreme use of old 1176's - muhahahaha gotta love that sound!).
Feel free to leave any comments on my page - I'll be posting up another song or two in the near future.
Cheers,
Cam

I got bored and made a rubbish diagram of 'what song are you' based on whether or not someone felt happy or not
It's crap and ugly and not funny but it was a laugh to make!

Well, tonight I finally got to hear what a drum kit sounds like in my tracking room and I must say, it weren't bad. ;-0
Device Box, a Victoria, BC Canada based band, started laying down tracks for an upcoming demo CD tonight. We got great separation in sound, and although I was short one mic cable for the floor tom, everything sounded pretty good. I had the drummer and bassist in the tracking room, with the bassist DI'ed. I had my Beta 52 on the Kick, an SM57s on the snare and high tom (he only…

'ey.
got a new tune up called fuck it. i'm not 100% on it and i've taken it down elsewhere but i'll leave it up here 'til i get the re-jig, jiggled, then replace it
er it's a bit of a roller, stutter-y vox, kind of a bit Q-Project from like 2 years back - it's pretty good, still not happy with the lead and the sub is all over the gaff (dunno what happened there...), and the kick is a tad hard - it's only where i spin it in my car that i proper notice
so yeh, i'll probably fix all that by say...…
