About :
I stumbled upon my love for mastering audio when, as a hobby, began digitally converting my 12" dance ''whitelabel" vinyl collection. Upon using my audio editing software I found myself fascinated, intrigued, and obsessed in learning about sound and the different representations of sound.
(IE: The colors representing energy in specific frequencies over time when viewing in a spectral graph)
That, along with becoming immersed in the mastering of audio to cater to my different listening environments.
I was so engrossed in learning how to master my digital audio that after 2 years of the "trial and error" of learning on my own a friend recommended I go to school. Funny, because I had never thought about going to school to learn about what I perceived as just a hobby. So I enrolled in a "hands on" programme which places you in a studio to learn the basics of audio engineering.
I used to jokingly state, "I can't play an instrument nor can I sing a note, but I do have a very keen since of hearing." I had no idea, until I was in school, that this was a valuable trait to have and not a "useless talent" like once thought.
I also thought that my only talent was my ability to talk, entertain others, and be just "eye candy". Having stumbled upon my true passion, audio and the mastering of sound, I have gained a deeper understanding about myself.
Who would have thought that all this would come about from a hobby I started to replace the absence of my twin sister, whom had moved up north to get married.
