I write, I sing, I play, I arrange, I record, produce and engineer. I enjoy the writing the playing, the performing, but being in the studio is a labour of love to me. And I mean labour, I do not enjoy being behind the desk. It is done purely due the need to get the songs recorded and to share with the world.
I am here to get inspiration from those who love production. I want to here from you. I would like you to criticise my productions.... That said please make it constructive critic…

nice vibes on burning bridge.

i had a listen to your profile track and here's what stood out to me initially:
in terms of arrangement:
the intro in some parts is too busy (e.g. 0:12 seconds) especially when you introduce the guitar motif* and have the bassline almost following the part* exactly. letting off of the bass a bit in these parts and perhaps just using it to accent certain key notes would work better imho...
because like i said having all this going on along with the drums ALSO doing a fill/roll all on it's own is just too much and it tends to bombard the listener.
in terms of mixing, i think the bass is slightly too dominant and i think a few of the drum sounds are too thin. of course, i come from a dance music background so it may just be a matter of preference...
the best advice i can give you mix-wise is to try and find the track 'push on through (dancehall)' by the band salmonella dub.
i think it can serve as the perfect reference for your mix as the bassline in this track is mixed similiarly to your own, it also has brass sounds in it, and the drumsounds are just right.
so if you can locate this track i think it would be a perfect reference. i used to DJ it years ago and I don't remember exactly what album it is on so apologies for that.
otherwise, i think your track has great vibe and feeling and i like it overall.
regards,
Adriel
Thanks for your envite!!!!!!
