Stepping up the game

I'm really starting to step up my production i feel lately, learning all the time and working hard, aswell as getting some great feedback from some very respectable people such as Pete Tong (one of my tracks is to be featured on his show). Never under estimate the importance of working hard, but staying in that 'free' mindset. I really want to get my hands on a midi controller, if i can hold out i will try and get the mackie mcu pro, and the extender - the c4 pro. That would be ideal for me, i'… Continue

Battery3 rocking!

well, the ultrabeat didnt work out too good for me in logic, it has a few glitches which has annoyed me and let me down, so i got battery3 from native instruments and am in love with it so far, really really impressed with it, hope all is good with everyone else.

My tracks

Hey all, i've put some tracks i've done up on my page now. i did them in reason3 a few months ago, they were the last tracks i did in reason before i moved to logic and mac. It would be good to hear what people think of them, critisism is needed and much appreciated, i just want to keep getting better and learning more production tips and techniques. Enjoy.....(hopefully) haha

Thursday nite

Really exploring the avenues of the ultrabeat on logic at the moment, im hoping this will be a drum synth that will blow me away and support all my house music drum needs, maybe i'll still back up some ultrabeat drum rhythms with an apple loop, i hope i dont need to though, i want this drum machne to be all i need when it comes to making beats for my house tracks. Apart from that, i'm really going to try and embrace this website, and spread the word, its exactly what is needed for us bedroom pr… Continue

I love the that sample in the "My gf won't stop txting me" it sounds like a guitar slide or a mans voice saying mmmm mmmm mmm. I like the vibe in "Effective". What did you use for the drums in this song? Was it reason? Good feel on "Original sampled material" and finally "Here we go" seems to be a solid house track. I think this one is the most complete so far of the four tracks. The flow is smooth and the overall choice of sounds and production seem to be more polished. Everything seems to fit.

I'd be interested in knowing how the ultrabeat works out for you.

Hi bakersdozen

Thanks for passing by and for the positive feedback. I have left a message for mike, I would like him to put me in touch with that engineer or possibly work with him on this.

This is actually the first demo I have recorded and mixed and like I said in my blog being behind the desk is only something I do out of necessity ie I don't like it, until I find that right collaborator I will struggle on doing what's got to be done. Things can only get better.

I am a firm believer that song is key. I have created a social network www.allaboutthesong.ning.com which is all about songwriters, singers, producers, musicians, lyricists and song lovers in general coming together to inspire and be inspired with the emphasis being good, clean, strong lyrics that inspire.

Once again thanks for passing by and taking time to comment.

Peace

yeah I've met Andy Cato, I've done 3 albums for him after all...they're both really nice normal guys who just happen to make great music and have a lot of fun doing it - have you listened to any of Tom Findlay's Sugardaddy stuff? I mastered that as well, it's really good, bit dirtier than GA stuff,

cheers
