I love the Toneport! Do you have any of the model packs? I have all of them on the POD and they can be transferred back and forth from the POD to the UX2. Just can't have them on 2 different devices at the same time... you have to purchase another one. I don't mind switching them when I need them.

Did you ever get those guitar tones sounding the way you wanted. I have been having some issues with Guitar Rig lately and I am waiting for Native Instruments to find the answer. I still have the POD XT LIVE though. I have some great tones on that. Line 6 has a pocket pod now. I think it is about 130 us dollars(not sure in pounds) Check it out on www.line6.com. There are some movies of it in action.
