About :
I'm a music that has been now producing for 2 years and my styles of music are Rock, Reggae, Kizomba, Kuduro and Funk. I had a band in Zimbabwe for 4 years called ONE, we used to play Rock and Reggae from 2000 to 2004.In the end of 2004 I formed a new band called Black Survivors, we used to play Reggae and Funk, we managed to record an album called "Still Surviving" with 12 tracks, we also managed to make a video. As a separated project I've also managed to record a solo album called " 26 Special" with 17 tracks, and right now I'm trying to promote my album. My favorite instrument is guitar and I'm a singer too.
Well, Bruno, my rooms are small because I had to fit them into the space of my existing garage dimensions. Although I built it from the ground up, I was replacing a rotting old garage. I really wanted a separate control room so it became the small room . The control room is 7' x 10' x 8'. The tracking room is 9.5' x 10' x 8' (approx).
I did a lot of research by getting books on studio design from the library and reading websites. The control room was sized to be a good ratio to spread out the frequencies that will be amplified by reflections. But both rooms are small and therefore needed quite a bit of acoustic treatment. They are sounding pretty good for their size.
As for the floor, the foundation walls are cinder blocks filled with sand and I hung 2x8 wood joists and built a plywood floor. I would have poured cement, but lumber is fairly inexpensive here and I was trying to save on costs.
Feel free to ask any other questions as you go along. I may not have the answers, but they are all out there somewhere.
Hey Bruno,
Thanks for the comment on my studio pix. I'm spending today shingling the outside walls before the rain starts again. I've also managed to have one practice session with my guitarist to shake down the gear. Found a few problems, but I'm sure their solvable.
How is your own small studio build going? Feel free to ask me any questions about my construction. I learned (and did) a lot this year.

I don't have the firewire version, but a friend of mine does and he's never had a problem. The only problems I've heard of with the Multimix's is with the USB's. They seem to have a latency problem - at least the one's I've heard of. I don't see why you should any problems with yours when you get it. I run the standard 1/4" out version - but I haven't used it since I invested in the Fostex and the Mackie, but I never had a problem with it.
Olá outra vez Bruno, o Ruca foi sempre gravado por um dos nossos eng. de som (FC) mas já não trabalha-mos com ele à uns anos. O nosso pessoal é todo Pt de Lisboa. About FrutyLoops, I don't work with it but people tell me that is a nice tool. I use Native Instruments Battery 3(vst-instrument) and Ableton Live6. Battery for one shot samples and Live for loops.

I bought most of my gear from our local music store (Long and McQuade), some from www.ebay.com. I can ask at Long and McQuade if they know any place.
Would there be any stores in Europe that ship to Africa? I would think that shipping would be a lot cheaper from there.
Cheers.
